Steward (company)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Steward is an online crowd-sourced lending platform for regenerative agriculture and regional food systems.

Company overview[edit]

Steward was founded by Dan Miller, who co-founded the online real estate crowdfunding platform, Fundrise, and formerly served as its president and director.[1]

Through Steward, users lend to regenerative farms, fisheries, ranches, and food producers across the United States.[2] Steward has raised $8.8million in 2021 in a Series A funding.[3]

Loan participants help fund secured private commercial loans to regenerative farmers who need capital for land acquisition, equipment, or infrastructure.[4][5] The loans typically have an interest rate from 5% to 9% and usually range from 48 to 72 months.[6]
