Jason Tarry (born 1966 or 1967) is a British retail executive, and the chair-designate of the John Lewis Partnership, and will start in the role in September 2024.[2]

Early life[edit]

He was born in Tonbridge, Kent,[1] and educated nearby at Maidstone Grammar School.[3]

He graduated from Staffordshire University with a bachelor's degree in Business Studies in 1989.[4]

Career[edit]

Tarry joined the graduate trainee programme at grocery chain Tesco in 1990.[2] He ran its UK and Irish business for six years until September 2024, when he will succeed Sharon White as chair of the John Lewis Partnership.[2]

Personal life[edit]

Tarry is married to Cathryn, they have three adult children, and live in Hertfordshire.[1]
