Biography[edit]

Kursia was born in Kfar Pines. At the age of four his family moved to the settlement of Nof Ayalon where he grew up and was educated in the Bnei Akiva youth movement. His father, Rabbi Asher Kursia,[2] founded and manages the Bnei Akiva Orot Modi'in girls high school. His mother, Rabbanit Yael, is a couple's counselor, leads workshops on Jewish self-awareness and is a therapist.[3]

He studied at the Shalheveth elementary school, at the Shalev high school yeshiva in Kiryat Chinuch Shalev and at the Karnei Shomron "hesder" yeshiva. In the IDF he served in the Tzabar Battalion of the Givati Brigade where he was a commanding officer.

In 2017 he began teaching at the Bnei Akiva Lappid high school in Modi'in. Since 2021 Kursia has documented his educational methodology and connections with students on Instagram and TikTok, making him a social media influencer.

He began his musical career as the lead singer of the "Atchalta" band he founded with his yeshiva friends, and in 2017 produced his first album "Yoter Midai" with producer and arranger Reuven Haiun. After the release of his first album, Kursia was crowned "Music Discovery of the Year" on the Srugim website.[4]

Ahead of the release of his second album, Kursia released the singles: "Od Yom She'over", "Linshom", "Halvad Haze" (featuring rapper Itay Lukatch),

In 2021 he released his song "30 Nerot"[5] arranged and produced by Uriyan Shokron, and on February 20 he released his song "Mishu Yikra L'cha Ima"[6] arranged and produced by Ori Avni. "Mishu Yikra L'cha Ima" garnered many positive reactions on social media, entered the YouTube Hot Videos charts, and surpassed 7 million listens on TikTok.[7]

Kursia produced a show called "Noladti Dati" (Born Religious) which he performs for teens.[6]

Moshe writes a monthly column called "B'Govah Halev" (At Heart Level) for the Makom BaOlam youth magazine.

In 2022 Kursia became a social media influencer and as of 2023 has over 500,000 followers on social media.

In March 2023 he released the song "Higi'a Zman L'hit'orer".[8]

During the Iron Sword war, in addition to being a fighter, Kursia uploaded many funny videos to boost morale and fighting spirit in Israel. These videos received millions of views and reactions.[9] In December he released a war song called "Lo Yihyu Po Milchamot" (There Will Be No Wars Here) which garnered hundreds of thousands of views within days. The song also reached #78 on the Mako weekly Hitlist chart.[10][3]
