Ammar Kofi

Ammar Kofi (Sorani Kurdish: عەمار کۆفی) is a Kurdish singer from Kurdistan, Iraq, who participated in the Arab Idol Season 3, and has previously participated in one of the local Kurdish programs. He became famous after participating in MBC's Arab Idol.

Career[edit]

He has been interested in music and singing since he was young. He participated in Arab Idol in its third season in 2014, and through his great performance and powerful voice, Ammar quickly gained widespread fame. He impressed listeners in the Arab and Kurdish worlds and won the hearts of millions. His songs became one of the most viewed on YouTube, in Arabic and Kurdish.[1] He was influenced by leading Kurdish, Iraqi and Arab artists including Mohamed Abdel Wahab, Nazim Ghazali, Hassan Jazrawi and Nazem al-Ghazali.
