Sana Sayyad (born 29 October 1994) is an Indian actress who works in Hindi television. She is known for participating in MTV Splitsvilla 8 and emerged as the runner-up. She is best known for her portrayal of Drishti Sharma Shergill in Divya Drishti and Sejal Kotadia Nanda in Spy Bahu[3] Since 2023, she is playing Dr. Palki Khurana in post generation leap in Zee TV's Kundali Bhagya.[4]

Early life[edit]

Sayyad was born on 29 October 1994 in Mumbai, Maharashtra.[1] Sayyad's father, Yaquib Sayyad, works in the Merchant Navy.[5] She did her schooling from S.C.D. Barfiwala High School, Mumbai and went to Mithibai Motiram Kundnani College of Commerce & Economics, Mumbai to pursue her graduation.

Personal life[edit]

Sayyad revealed in February 2021, that she is dating entrepreneur Imaad Shamsi.[6][7] Sayyad married Shamsi on 25 June 2021 in an intimate Nikaah ceremony.[8]

Career[edit]

Debut and early work (2015–2019)[edit]

Sayyad started her career in 2015 by participating in MTV Splitsvilla 8, where she finished as the runner-up with Utkarsh Gupta.[9] In 2015, she made her acting debut with Boyz Will Be Boyz, portraying Ashita opposite Ashwini Koul.[10] She then portrayed Avanti in Yeh Hai Aashiqui Sun Yaar Try Maar opposite Shehzad Shaikh, the same year.[11]

In 2016, she appeared in Star Plus's soap opera Jaana Na Dil Se Door portrayed as Aditi Vashisht[12][13] and same year she played as Megha in romantic television series MTV Girls on Top.[14]

Later, she was seen as Manisha in an episode role in Sony Entertainment Television India's Indian true crime anthology series Crime Patrol .[15] In 2018, she portrayed Amrit Kakkar Chopra in Papa By Chance opposite Zebby Singh.[16]

Breakthrough and recognition (2019–2022)[edit]

From 2019 to 2020, Sayyad portrayed Drishti Sharma Shergill in Star Plus's popular supernatural drama and romantic television serial Divya Drishti, opposite Adhvik Mahajan.[17] It proved as a major turning point in her career.[18]

In 2020 to 2021 post COVID-19 pandemic lockdown, she portrayed Sonam Goel Jaiswal in Star Plus's Lockdown Ki Love Story opposite Mohit Malik.[19][20]

In 2022, Sayyad portrayed Sejal Kotadia Nanda / Mahira Mirza, a Research and Analysis Wing agent, in Spy Bahu opposite Sehban Azim.[21][22][23] For her role as Sejal, Sana nominated for Indian Television Academy Awards and Gold Awards as Best Actress in a Leading Role 2022.

Further work (2023–present)[edit]

Since March 2023, she has been portraying Dr. Palki Khurana opposite Paras Kalnawat post generation leap in Zee TV's romantic drama Kundali Bhagya.[24][25][26]
