Ethnicity[edit]

The Balangoda Polling Division has a Sinhalese majority (81.5%) and a significant Indian Tamil population (10.5%) . In comparison, the Ratnapura Electoral District (which contains the Balangoda Polling Division) has a Sinhalese majority (87.1%) [1]
