Balasubramanian Prabhakaran

Balasubramanian Prabhakaran (born April 17, 1973),[1][better source needed] also known as B Prabhakaran, is an Indian businessman in the mining industry. Since 2017, he is the managing director of Thriveni Earthmovers.[2]

Early life and education[edit]

Prabhakaran was born in Salem, Tamil Nadu.[3] He attended the PSG College of Arts and Science.[1][better source needed]

Career[edit]

He became involved in the mining industry in 1993, working as a contractor for Hindustan Copper and India Cements for several years.[3] In 2000, Prabhakaran was involved in an iron ore mining project with the Indian state of Odisha. According to Scroll, his company earned ₹90 crore (US$10.7 million) in revenue in 2000, and later ₹1,300 crore (US$157 million) in 2015.[4]

Prabhakaran was cited in an investigation into illegal mining in India.[5]
