Fabian Egger

Fabian Egger is a Swiss musical director, musician, producer, and author currently located in Los Angeles, United States and St. Gallen, Switzerland. His work as a music director and drummer have led him on numerous world tours and collaborations with artists including Big Sean, Zedd, Zara Larsson, Jhene Aiko, Sting, Lindsey Stirling, Kim Petras, Gashi, Cheat Codes.[1]

Early life and career[edit]

Egger was born in Rüthi, St. Gallen, Switzerland into a musical family and started playing the drums at the age of 2. Considered a childhood drumming prodigy, Mr. Egger won several prestigious European drum competitions that eventually led him to be presented a scholarship at Musicians Institute in Hollywood at the age of 16.[2] Egger's career trajectory first started to materialize as he joined the alternative Rock band BRKN RBTZ which also featured Brian McKnight's 2 sons Niko and Brian Jr.

From 2013 to 2015 Egger served as the music director for Big Sean.[3] His unique style of music direction and song arrangement on Big Sean's Hall of Fame album cycle, was commended by Rolling Stone magazine. Egger's extensive stage credits further include best selling artists such as Drake, Nicki Minaj, Wiz Khalifa, Adam Lambert, Marina Diamandis, Gallant, Ace Hood, Kshmr, Jon Batiste, Lauren Sanderson, Pussy riot and Chord Overstreet. Egger's work has been featured on festival stages at Coachella, Lollapalooza Brazil, Lollapalooza Argentina, Lollapalooza Chile, Glastonbury, Powerhouse, Openair Frauenfeld, Wireless Festival, Summer Jam and Outside Lands.[4][5]

Egger's influence extends beyond live performances, as he is also credited for arranging and playing on Zedd's Itunes Session EP. In 2015, he assumed the roles of executive producer and co-writer for German Idol winner Luca Hänni's album "When We Wake Up."

Egger has made notable appearances on awards and television shows, including Dancing with the Stars, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the MTV European Music Awards, Late Night with Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Arsenio Hall, The Today Show, Wendy Williams, BET 106 & Park, Good Morning America, The Swiss Music Awards, Late Night with Seth Meyers and the Billboard Women in Music Awards.

Mr. Egger is an endorser of some of the worlds largest instrument companies such as Mapex Drums, Paiste Cymbals and Iconnectivity Interfaces.

In 2019, Egger diversified his contributions to the music industry with the publication of "88 Keys No Blocks: Piano Fundamentals In The Fast Lane" (ASIN: B07RL4MN6P), offering a comprehensive exploration of piano fundamentals, infused with his unique insights and expertise.[6][7]
