Velilla del Río Carrión (or simply Velilla) is a municipality located in the Montaña Palentina of the province of Palencia, Castile and León, Spain. According to the 2018 census (INE), the municipality has a population of 1,299 inhabitants.

The village straddles either side of the Carrión river, a tributary of the Pisuerga and eventually the Duero and is only 3 kilometres upstream from Guardo, the largest town in the region. The town centre is overlooked by two prominent mountains: Peña Lampa and the Peña Mayor de Velilla in the adjacent Sierra de Brezo. Velilla was home to the Velilla Power Plant until its cooling towers were demolished in 2020, although it is still famous for the Fuentes Tamáricas, intermittent fountains possibly of pre-Roman origin.
