Dejang-e Bala (Persian: دجنگ بالا, also Romanized as Dejang-e Bālā)[3] is a village in, and the former capital of, Taftan-e Jonubi Rural District of the Central District of Taftan County, Sistan and Baluchestan province, Iran,[4] until the new capital became Tamandan.[5]
At the 2006 National Census, its population was 284 in 55 households, when it was in the former Nukabad District of Khash County.[6] The following census in 2011 counted 435 people in 107 households.[7] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 303 people in 91 households.[2]
In 2018, the district was separated from the county in the establishment of Taftan County, which was divided into three districts of two rural districts each, with Nukabad as its capital and only city.[8]
