2024 Delhi schools bomb threats

On the morning of 1 May 2024, around 100 schools in Delhi and the National Capital Region of India were emailed bomb threats. The emails were received by the schools around 4 am, leading to immediate evacuation and closure of schools all over Delhi.[1]

Some schools of Delhi received E-mails regarding bomb threats. Delhi Police has conducted thorough check of all such schools as per protocol. Nothing objectionable has been found. It appears that these calls seem to be hoax. We request the public not to panic and maintain peace.

Delhi Police and Delhi's education minister Atishi Marlena Singh, confirmed the news on social media. Bomb squads and Delhi police teams investigated the schools and increased security throughout the capital. According to police, "nothing suspicious was found," and the event was labeled a hoax. Police filed an FIR against unknown person under section 120B, 506 of IPC.[3]

Police reported that the IP addresses which sent the emails were Russian in origin.[4][5]
