Tasqueña is the northern terminal of the Xochimilco Light Rail. It is located south of Mexico City in the mayor of Coyoacán's office.

Information[edit]

Originally called Taxqueña (Tasqueña is the spelling used for a few years mainly for the name of the metro stations and the light rail of the area), it owes its name to which it is located next to the Taxcagna Causeway. Taxqueña is the demonym of the women of Taxco, in the state of Guerrero, a town famous for its work of silverware. The icon represents the silhouette of the moon, a deity worshipped in the area of Culhuacán, located at the end of the Taxqueña road.[1]

Major refurbishment in 2019[edit]

Service at the station was suspended in 2019, due to a refurbishment of the system. Tracks that were used since the 1890s (and which was once used by the former streetcars before it was converted to light rail) were replaced.[2][3]

Connections[edit]

There are connections to stations and stops of various transport systems:
