Manual roll

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Manual roll is a skateboard trick invented by skateboarder Pat Ngoho.

Background[edit]

The manual roll is not a wheelie, instead the manual roll is a wheelie usually inserted within a preexisting trick such as an ollie variation or a wheelie transfer between two defined areas. The manual roll adds increased degree of difficulty and style and is considered a main element to many advanced skateboarder's trick bag. The trick is considered "proper" when executed by balancing and holding up the front wheels and not scraping the tail.[1] Pat Ngoho created the trick in the late 1970s[2] and the trick was named by another legendary skateboarder John Lucero.[citation needed] The trick has wide appeal in pool skating, transition skating and street skating. RedBull created an event called Manny Mania that focuses on tricks utilizing the Manual Roll.[citation needed]
