  1. ^ Certain award groups do not simply award one winner. They recognize several different recipients, have runners-up, and have third place. Since this is a specific recognition and is different from losing an award, runner-up mentions are considered wins in this award tally. For simplification and to avoid errors, each award in this list has been presumed to have had a prior nomination.

Nora Lum (Chinese: 林家珍; pinyin: Lín Jiāzhēn), known professionally as Awkwafina, is an American actress, comedian, writer, producer, and rapper. In 2019, Awkwafina appeared in Lulu Wang's comedy-drama The Farewell.[13] A film about a Chinese-American family who discover that their grandmother has only a short while left to live, they decide to not to tell her and schedule a family gathering before she dies.[14] Her performance in the film was widely praised by the critics and she went on to win numerous accolades.[15][16][17][18][19] Awkwafina won the Satellite Award for Best Actress – Motion Picture,[10] Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Motion Picture Comedy or Musical,[20] Virtuoso Award from the Santa Barbara International Film Festival,[21] and the Gotham Independent Film Award for Best Actress.[22] She became the first woman of Asian descent to capture a Golden Globe in a lead actress film category after winning Best Actress – Motion Picture Comedy or Musical.[23] In 2020, Awkwafina was nominated for the BAFTA Rising Star Award.[24]
