Ethnicity[edit]

The Yatiyanthota Polling Division has a Sinhalese majority (77.3%) and a significant Indian Tamil population (16.5%) . In comparison, the Kegalle Electoral District (which contains the Yatiyanthota Polling Division) has a Sinhalese majority (85.5%) [1]
