Aditya Kumar Gupta (born June 18, 1955) is a Canadian academic and distinguished professor at the University of Toronto.[1] He is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and the European Confederation of Medical Mycology.[2][3]

Gupta has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals with more than 800 publications and book chapters. He was ranked amongst the Top 20 dermatology authors by h-index (1980-2020). His areas of research interest include onychomycosis, superficial fungal infections, hair disorders, actinic keratosis, and skin cancer.[4][5]

Gupta earned a medical degree from the University of Southampton School of Medicine, completed a dermatology residency and clinical research fellowship at the University of Michigan Medicine, and was awarded a Ph.D. from the University of Gothenburg.[3]

Gupta has over 850 publications in the peer-reviewed literature on topics related to dermatology and hair restoration surgery.[citation needed] His work has been published in journals such as the Journal of Investigative Dermatology, Archives of Dermatology, British Journal of Dermatology, Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, and American Journal of Clinical Dermatology.[citation needed]

Gupta is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology, American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery, and American Board of Laser Medicine Surgery.[3]

Gupta is a professor in the Division of Dermatology, Department of Medicine at the University of Toronto and is a visiting professor at the Department of Dermatology, Tel Aviv University Faculty of Medicine and Guglielmo Marconi University at Rome, Italy, in 2016.[1][3]
