Angulo died on 20 July 2014 at the age of 61 when the vehicle in which he was travelling veered from the road.[1][2] At that moment he was going to the filming of Bendita calamidad.[3] Then he was replaced by Luis Varela.[4] The Spanish director Mikel Rueda dedicated his film Hidden Away to Angulo posthumously.[5]
