Barangerd (Persian: بارانگرد), also Romanized as Bārāngerd,[3] is a village in, and the capital of, Barangerd Rural District of Qaleh Tall District, Bagh-e Malek County, Khuzestan province, Iran.[4]

At the 2006 National Census, its population was 1,474 in 316 households, when it was in Qaleh Tall Rural District of the Central District.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 1,521 people in 338 households.[6] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 1,349 people in 365 households. It was the most populous village in its rural district.[2]

In April 2023, the rural district and the city of Qaleh Tall were separated from the district in the establishment of Qaleh Tall District, which was divided into two rural districts, with the city as its capital.[4]
