Springfields Outlet Shopping & Leisure is a major outlet centre in Spalding, Lincolnshire.
History[edit]
Springfields had a soft opening on 22 April 2004, before being formally opened on 1 May 2004 by celebrity gardener Charlie Dimmock. The centre combined both an outlet retail offering, and also regeneration of the historic Festival Gardens. It was developed by Thornfield Properties.[1]
In June 2018, actress Samia Ghadie opened the centre's newest attraction Springfields Adventure Land, a family-oriented leisure facility connected to the outlet mall with attractions and restaurants.[2]
A Phase 2 extension of the centre involved a 2,500 sq.m. extension to form the South Avenue of the retail area, with 13 new shops and a hotel.[3]
By March 2023, Springfields had over 55 retail outlets, and there are 11 feature garden areas across the site, created by landscape designers like Chris Beardshaw, Charlie Dimmock and Kim Wilde.[4] A third phase development was given the green light in the same year, and confirmed construction would have to begin by February 2024.[5]
Stores[edit]
As of 2024, the mall had 55 stores across its 45 acre site.[6] Brands include Cadbury, Dune, Marks & Spencer and Sketchers.[7] The facility also has a Travelodge hotel.[8]
Location and transport links[edit]
Springfields is located in Spalding, at the junction of the A16 and A151. The nearest rail connection is Spalding railway station, around 20 minutes from Peterborough. Multiple bus links service the centre including the 37, 301, 505 and B3X.[9]
