Jorge Andrés Giménez Ochoa (Caracas; August 11, 1987) is a Venezuelan businessman and football executive. Between the years 2016-2021, he served as the president of Deportivo Lara , and from 2021 to the present, he has been the president of the Federación Venezolana de Fútbol (FVF).[1][2]

He studied business administration at the Universidad Nueva Esparta (El Hatillo, Miranda). He defines himself as dedicated "to the business world in the hands of family companies".[3]
President of the FVF[edit]
Jorge Giménez Ochoa participated in the 2021 elections for the presidency of the Venezuelan Football Federation,[4][5] sharing the same candidacy with Pedro Infante. Infante, a former sports deputy minister of the government and a former official of the FVF, was one of the reasons for FIFA's intervention in 2020, as this entity prohibits government interference in national federations. Another factor was the death of executive Jesús Berardinelli, who had previously been arrested on embezzlement charges and later transferred to a clinic due to respiratory failure.
The Giménez and Infante candidacy won with 57 votes out of 92 cast in the elections on May 28, 2021, following a period of instability in the organization due to allegations of irregularities. Jorge Silva, their opponent, expressed dissatisfaction with the disqualification of some delegates for the vote. Giménez took office for the 2021-2025 term on June 7.[6]
On August 20, 2021, José Peseiro resigned as coach of the Venezuelan national team, citing 14 months without salary. The new FVF board proposed to pay 50% of the debt, a proposal rejected by Peseiro. Leo González took over as interim coach. A later audio revealed the intervention of Minister El Aissami, violating Article 19 of FIFA's statutes regarding non-governmental interference in federation matters.
Since Giménez Ochoa assumed the presidency of the Federation in 2021, the new leadership team has implemented various alliances and strategies to strengthen both the sports and administrative structures. The main focus has been on promoting the training of young talents and enhancing the competitiveness of national teams internationally. This commitment has translated into ongoing efforts to optimize available resources, aiming for growth in the sports field at various levels.[7][8][9]

Jorge Giménez Ochoa has been linked to Raúl Gorrín and Delcy Rodríguez.[10] After his election, he received congratulations from various public figures.
He was on the flight to Madrid in January 2020 and accompanied Rodríguez[11] on the visit to Qatar in June 2021, serving as the president of the FVF while the Venezuelan national football team competed in the 2021 Copa América amidst controversies related to COVID cases.
Additionally, in 2020, he was associated with the disappearance of Edward Velásquez Fernández, a supplier for the Venezuelan Institute of Social Security, with a possible commercial rivalry being investigated.[12][13]

He is son of Bertriz Ochoa de Giménez and the businessman Fenelón Giménez González.[14]
