Zybyne (Ukrainian: Зибине; Russian: Зыбино) is a village in the Chuhuiv Raion of Kharkiv Oblast in eastern Ukraine, at about 70.40 kilometres (43.74 mi) northeast by east (NEbE) of the centre of Kharkiv city and at about 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) south of the Russia–Ukraine border.[2] It belongs to Vovchansk urban hromada , one of the hromadas of Ukraine.
During the initial eastern campaign of the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, the village was occupied by Russia on 24 February 2022, the first day of the conflict. It was retaken by Ukrainian forces later that year during the 2022 Kharkiv counteroffensive. Russian forces began combat operations in the area of Zybyne once again on 10 May 2024 during the 2024 Kharkiv offensive.
Demographics[edit]
In 2001 the settlement had 115 inhabitants, native language as of the 2001 Ukrainian census:[1]

The Ukrainian General Staff reported that Ukrainian forces repelled a limited Russian attack north of Zybyne, Kharkiv Oblast (immediately east of Vovchansk and 3km south of the international border), likely a cross-border raid originating from Russian territory.
