Kuhestan District (Persian: بخش کوهستان) is in Tonekabon County, Mazandaran province, Iran. Its capital is the village of Gol-e Aliabad,[2] whose population at the 2016 National Census was 598 in 230 households.[3]

In 2019, Do Hezar Rural District and Seh Hezar Rural District were separated from Khorramabad District in the establishment of Kuhestan District, which was divided into three rural districts and no cities.[2]
