Gottipati Ravi Kumar is an Indian politician from Andhra Pradesh. He has been serving as a member of the Andhra Pradesh Assembly, representing the Addanki constituency. He is a member of the Telugu Desam Party.[1]

The people in Addanki assembly constituency expressed their love in sitting MLA Gottipati Ravi Kumar, whom they fondly call as Bujji.

Ravi Kumar achieved a hat-trick by winning the confidence of the public continuously in the elections of 2009, 2014 and 2019, though he represented three different parties in these three elections from Addanki constituency.

Political career[edit]

Currently, Gottipati Ravikumar represents the TDP in the Addanki Constituency in the Prakasam District as a member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA). He was born in 1976 to Seshagiri Rao. He completed his intermediate studies at Vidwan Junior College in Guntur and his graduation from B.I.E.T. College in Thavanagiri in 1993.

He basically comes from a farming family and has his own company.

His political career began when he joined the Indian National Congress Party (INC) and contested from Martur constituency and won with majority of 13,806. Later, he was chosen as a Legislative Assembly (MLA) member in 2009 with the Congress Party's largest Addanki majority of 15,764 from Addanki constituency and later joined in YSRCP.

He won the position of Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from the YSRCP in the 2014 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Elections with the Majority of the Addanki Constituency of 4,235.

He has completed numerous public works projects, such as building classrooms and laying CC roads. He became aware of the LOC checks in his district.

On 27 April 2016, Gottipati Left YSRCP and joined Telugu Desham Party in presence of AP CM Chandrababu Naidu. In 2019, Gottipati Ravikumar, a member of the TDP Party, was elected as the Legislative Assembly (MLA) representing the Addanki Constituency in the Prakasam District with a huge majority of 12,991.

Ravi Kumar is the only candidate, who won in 2019 from among the 23 YSRCP MLAs who defected to the TDP after the 2014 elections.
