Michigan, how I want to live in you

So I must be driven to the airport and then from the airport down to Ohio for the funeral.  And then from the funeral back to Michigan to the airplane and back to New York again.   It was nice seeing these fellows of mine here on a few summer days in what becomes a quiet college town. We ate a lot of beans and Indian food.  And hopefully Eddie’s van service will pick me up without a problem.  We went to a lake.  And bowled.  And ran around an asphalt track.  And watched World Cup games at an Irish Pub.  Maggie had her ATM card eaten by a MS Windows running ATM.  I didn’t buy anything from Zingerman’s.  I’m not certain that it is a good value.  Hopefully Matt will grow some wheatgrass while Maggie is gone.  It’s pure rocketfuel.

We wrapped “Joshua” tonight. Zoe was a trooper as Bentley and I dropped off a ton of wood that was going to be thrown out, I hope to build some things in our apartment. Things that aren’t made of Ikea laminated pulp. It’s really hot and steamy. Managed also to get a stainless steel laminated countertop that will work well as an island. I hope. The two burner cast iron skillet/grill is pretty awesome. Last weekend in Seattle with Mom and Natalie et al, was nice. My remaining grandfather will die soon. I’ll probably be visiting Matt and Maggie in Michigan when it happens. I last saw him a couple of months ago in Virginia. He’ll be buried in Ohio. I hear Michigan isn’t as hot as it is here. Stinkin’. Jamison and Josh will be making real money again on a TV show. It’s be good working, regardless of how much I make. I’m saving. I plan on retiring happily. We’ll have plenty of kitchen wares.

We’ve been shooting out at Fort Totten out past the Throgs Neck Bridge.  There have been some beautiful days, playing football, eating rice crispy treats.  I’ve been doing my best to ride out there despite the rain storms.  It’s about 14 miles one way through Flushing Queens almost to the Long Island border just before Duglaston.  We’re shooting in this dilapidated old Officer’s Quarters house that they fixed up so that we can shoot room by room to make it look like a manhattan apartment.  Supposedly at some point we’ll have a giant panoramic screen that looks like buildings in manhattan out the living room window.  My grandfather broke his hip.  My mother and I are to travel to my cousin’s graduation in Seattle next weekend.  This feature will be over relatively soon. I’m looking forward to going ot Ann Arbor as well at the end of the month.   Zoe and I have been buying kitchen stuff.  Domestic bliss.
