every junkie like the setting sun. new address.

darren found me a pad in Astoria. it’s cheap. it’ll do. will be in Philly next couple of weeks if things go well. do you know a lot about refinishing wood? you should share some thoughts with me on refinishing chairs and stains and varnishes in general. don’t smoke kids. it’s a nasty habit. skaters with tatoos are hot. **-** ** St. Astoria, NY ***** that’s the ticket. thanks to david for the help with the move up north.

no housing, silly east village, svelte laptops.

The consensus was that I need to work harder at getting work and a cheaper place to live, so no Astoria just yet.  The screening down at the Anthololgy Film Archives went pretty well, the projector didn’t do the 16×9 widescreen footage any justice, or any of the shorts except the documentary, which looked the cleanest. I’ve been trying to get all my footage together into QT files for something of a reel/business card/pretending to be successful and professional look. Tell me how I’m doing.

If you have a ring from an Ivy league school, most especially the H-bomb, and you have 2k$ to blow, it may be worth it to consider the IBM discount program whereby one can aquire the X-series sub 3 pound 12.1″ black-on-black red pointy stick hotness.  Currently I’m writing this on a 7 year old Dell Latitude Pentium III? 650mhz.  To each his own.  Good luck to Chris and Ayana on their journey through the south, back to the west, on the beach in La Jolla.  Boat drinks, Chris, boat drinks.

Don’t forget… to See Mark’s Short Film tonight! in the East Village! & Los Angeles!

I recently worked on this two week project called RIPfest here in NY and I was lucky enough to be the director of photography for one of the shorts. David Turner, an old friend from Virginia, composed the music onone of the NY teams as well.

Three teams in LA also simultaneously completed projects, and as such, if you’re in Los Angeles or New York and have free time tonight, Monday May 23, or Tuesday May 24, check all seven of the short musicals in all their digital glory.

i will not be denied.

with any luck all of my belonings will have been stolen out of my storage facility by voracious brooklyn vagrant thugs looking for vintage 1970’s minolta SLR cameras, Japanese Super 8 sound technology from the 80s, as well as numerous trinkets and love letters out of my sordid suburban past.

With all those out of my life, Nadine Olausson a broker friend of Jared’s up in Astoria will be able to quickly and easily find me a place to settle down up north where I’m less fearful for my life, with euro style cafe’s, with David Turner and Stacey, reasonable biking to Green Point and Astoria Park in general. that’s the plan, stan.

ps. the shooting went well. it’s crazy being a dp. I didn’t have to unpack or pack a single light. steadycam (TM) footage turned out well.

24p

probably will shoot again this weekend on the Panasonic 24p miniDV camera. It’s no XL2. That’s for sure. My Siemens German pride in electronics cell phone broke on me yesterday. Motorola it is. Lara Hoke has a show tonight in Park Slope. Tired. Drew with charcoal for the story boards.

blue

it looks like the script is finalized and all the singing is giong to be laid down to disc within a day or two. i hopefully will be checking out some rooms and future roomsmates here. meeting elysha tomorrow to talk about the short film from last summer. brian darren’s friend said he’d give the music video a try. why this all takes so much effort is beyond me. coney island and a jaguar/rich people’s auto shop are our locations for shooting this weekend. it all makes me tired.

yes. no. yes

David’s place is swell. Coffee is swell. Feeling like a drifter is not. If I wanted to feel like a drifter I think I should be on a bike, motorized or not, seeing America, Canada, Nunavut, not hanging out in the quintessential expensive American mega-city. I still think my idea of cycling to San Diego was a good one. Montreal hopefully.
RIP Fest { http://www.rawimpressions.org/RIPFest/ripfest_main.html } starts Saturday, shooting all next weekend. Had Polish perogies in Green Point with Monse from Chile this morning. My virtual stock portfolio is doing swell. { http://game.marketwatch.com/ } “iwillvalet” is the competition. Will be selling one of my bio tech stocks though. Fuck all. That and a tattoo of my parent’s on my shoulder. Swell.

sometimes you ‘gotta move

the gas was cut off at Darren’s. David gave me a call and suggested I stay in his place for the remainder of the month since he’s moved north to Queens with his girl. I said sure. It’s not so much the dirt, if that had been the situation I think the roommates here would’ve moved out long ago. Asbestos. Sure. But no hot water! Eegads. To think that’s the final straw in a place like this. As if not being able to take a warm shower, while exposing yourself to countless carcinogens, is the real issue. Onward I say. Ripfest starts this weekend, it seems I’ll finally be meeting people my age outside of Arlington.
